Flow Theory is the brainchild of Australian-based, globally-grown DJ and producer Ashley Zadel, also known by his Psy-Tech alias, @Aztoria.

Named after a psychological state, Flow Theory describes the feeling of being so immersed that time melts away. You’re on the dancefloor, not thinking, just dancing, everything converging into one pure moment of coordination and connection. Self-consciousness disappears as time evaporates. Science calls this ‘being in a state of flow’. It’s Flow Theory.

Flow Theory delivers high-energy sonic journeys from Progressive to Full-On, crafted as transformative narratives. Defined by driving rhythms, pulsating basslines, and feel-good melodies, his tracks layer tension-filled build-ups that lead to epic drops, igniting the dancefloor into absolute mayhem.

Behind the decks, his ability to curate fresh and engaging sets is among his finest qualities. With a style defined by taste and precision, he delivers performances perfectly attuned to the moment and setting. His stage presence is magnetic, connecting with the crowd through an infectious, joyful energy. His sets transport you to another dimension, leaving the entire dancefloor euphoric and energised.

Since 2009 his expertise as a performer has been forged on stages across the world. His touring history spans the globe, with performances in South Africa, England, Israel, Brazil, Portugal, New Zealand, and Australia. Along the way, he has shared the stage with and supported some of the genre’s most respected names, including Astrix, Ace Ventura, Atmos, Avalon, Ajja, Airi, Bliss, Blastoyz, Electric Universe, Headroom, Infected Mushroom, Sonic Species, Vini Vici and countless others.

He has headlined and performed at some of the world’s major festivals including Universo Parallelo, Rainbow Spirit Festival, Groovy Troopers, Crater Gathering, Dimension Festival, Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Subsonic Festival, Elements, Earthcore, Dragon Dreaming, and countless other bush doofs and clubs.

A prolific producer, he is a regular fixture on the Beatport charts, cementing his reputation in the scene. His debut Up Records EP Into the Forest hit #1 on Beatport’s Top 100 Releases chart, while his track “Cosmic Sound of Music” featuring Raja Ram was played to 10’s of thousands at Boom Festival’s Dance Temple by Nano Records artists Regan and Dala.

In the studio, he has delivered standout tracks like his acclaimed remix of legendary Space Cat & Prastix’s “Transform”. He has collaborated with a diverse roster of talent including Pragmatix, Koshiro, Biscuit Bytes, Triex, Amordad, and Meraki, securing releases on United Beats Records, Tribeadelic Records, SiYu Rec, and Rizoma Records.

The name is more than just a handle, it’s a way to explain the concept of being, aiming for and experiencing a state of flow. You’ll know his work when you find yourself on a dance floor, your whole being involved and your senses fully engaged, and time simply flies. Stay tuned, get ready to lose time, and find your flow.
